Thank you for your interest in helping with Summer Gap Fill-A-Bag!

 

 

Here's how it works:
 

• You sign up below to let us know you want to participate.
• Within 2 days of signing up below, a detailed list of shelf-stable foods to purchase every other week will be emailed to you, along with a master shopping list. The master shopping list enables you to shop for most of the items ahead of time and pack of the bags at once – if you are so inclined!
• For 6 weeks this summer you shop for the list of shelf stable items for a specific unnamed child and deliver to the PHS lobby every other Tuesday between 8am-4pm (6/11, 6/25, 7/9, 7/23, 8/6 & 8/20).
• The items will cost about $30 biweekly, so you'll spend approximately $180 over the course of the summer for each student you sponsor.
• When delivering every other week, items should be delivered in paper grocery bags labeled with your assigned Fuel Up number. If you are going to be on vacation any week of break, you can drop bags in advance and we’ll store them in our Fuel Up closet. (If the timing for school hours/drop off does not jive with your schedule, you may contact the program coordinator to discuss alternate arrangements.)
• *SG Fill-A-Bag Alternate (we'll contact you if needed): Sometimes families sign up later than the deadline for various reasons. If this occurs and we need you to participate, we'll contact you via email and let you know, with instructions

You can also Share-A-Bag! If you don't feel like you'll be able to commit to dropping a bag off each week of the summer, consider sharing the responsibility with a friend (or 2). We've had several great partnerships where friends / neighbors took turns bringing the bags every other week, or where one person covered the first few weeks and the other covered the second few weeks of summer. To participate, the primary participant only should sign up online, then email our director at programcoordinator@fuelupkids.org with names of other participants.
